What's Your Grade ...
Grades for the iDuck class are calculated based on earned points out of total points. First quarter class will need a total of 500 points by the end of the quarter to earn an A+. Point goals for the quarter have been posted on my chalkboard as well as listed below. These point goals have been set up to keep students on track throughout the quarter and avoid a last-minute rush for points at the end of the quarter.
While students will be given class time to work on newscasts and individual projects, they may need to spend time outside of class to earn enough points for a good grade. Each of the individual projects includes a grade rubric or guide. Students will need to grade their own projects before turning it in for me to grade. A page has been provided for each student to keep track of the points they have earned along with a page listing the project descriptions and other important information.
Point Goals - Will be used to calculate grades using the online grading system.
To calculate your current grade, divide the number of points you have earned so far by the number of points you need at that time.
Goal #1 - Week 2 - Grades will be calculated based on a total of 200 points.
180-200 = A 160-178 = B 140-159 = C 120-139 = D Below 120 = F
Goal #2 - Week 4 - Grades will be calculated based on a total of 300 points.
270-300 = A 240-269 = B 210-239 = C 180-209 = D Below 180 = F
Goal #2 - Week 6 - Grades will be calculated based on 400 points.
360-400 = A 320-359 = B 280-319 = C 240-279 = D Below 240 = F
Goal #3 - Week 8 - Grades will be calculated based on 500 points.
450-500 = A 400-449 = B 350-399 = C 300-349 = D Below 300 = F
